Issue 46 May 2025

Concorde’s role in carrying out charter flights was one of the aspects that made the aircraft beloved to so many people. In this issue we look back at luxury charter flights from Prestwick, and find out about a new role for Concorde in Barbados.

Concorde G-BOAE was closed to visitors for several years, but is now on view as part of the new cruise transfer terminal at Grantley Adams International Airport. Paul Evans, of Foxie’s Filton Flyers, led a tour group who enjoyed a visit to Alpha Echo before the new terminal opened.

We present a recollection from travel company director Gary Reavely, who recounts his experience of running Concorde charter flights from Prestwick in Scotland.

Also in this issue we have a report from Aerospace Bristol at Filton, which held special events in April to mark the maiden flights of the first and last British Concordes. We also have news about the refurbishment of Concorde G-BOAC’s seats at the Runway Visitor Park in Manchester.

We end with Concorde Watch news from Aéroscopia in Toulouse, and from the UK.
