Fifty years ago, British development Concorde 202 (G-BBDG, or Delta Golf) made her first flight – a short hop from her birthplace at Filton to the test base at Fairford.
Since that flight, the aeroplane had a chequered history – from playing a significant part in the test flight programme and testing the in-service modifications, to retirement at Filton, to a new life as the centrepiece of Brooklands Museum.
In this issue we look back at all of these phases of Delta Golf’s history. Finally, we hear from those who attended the 50th anniversary celebrations at Brooklands on Tuesday.
We also have Concorde watch news from G-AXDN at Duxford, G-BOAC at Manchester, and – most excitingly – from G-BOAE in Barbados.
