Issue 48: November 2025

Exactly 50 years ago, on 5 November 1975, Concorde 206, registered G-BOAA, made her maiden flight from Filton. This aircraft held a special place as the first of British Airways’ Concorde fleet – the first to be delivered to the airline, and the one that inaugurated Concorde passenger services for British Airways.

We look back at the construction and career of this aircraft, and trace her history up to the present day – from the highs of performing display flights to the low of being dismantled and taken by road and sea to her new resting place at the National Museum of Flight in Scotland. Once at the museum, though, Alpha Alpha became a hugely popular attraction, and still enthrals visitors today.

We also bring news of a gathering of the “Concorde family” at Brooklands Museum, plus the latest maintenance updates on F-BVFF in Paris.
