Issue 05: July 2016

In this special issue we commemorate the career of Concorde G-BBDG, or “Delta Golf”. Although less well known than her sisters in the BA and Air France fleets, this aircraft did much of the work to make the Concorde services possible.

We look at the lives of Delta Golf – first as a “production test” aircraft, being used to test systems and train crew, then her retirement and long spell in storage, and finally her surprising renaissance as a visitor attraction. Finally, we join with Brooklands Museum to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Delta Golf’s inauguration as a display at Brooklands, and we look at the most exciting development so far – the re-activation of the aircraft’s famous droop nose.
